Waves Brauer Motion is an auto-panning plug-in that offers six different modes of operation, including Circular, with 360 degrees of rotation; Cross, that "blinks" on and off on each side like traffic lights; Cradle, where the sound "rocks" back and forth; Shuffle, which sweeps step-wise across the left-right spectrum; Classic, with basic left-right panning and no front-back movement; and Cradle Sharp, a.k.a. extreme cradle — quite the sonic experience and a favorite! Four trigger modes
Brauer Motion has four different trigger modes that can be set to trigger based on a set threshold. When the level crosses the threshold, it begins to move; when it falls below, it stays in its last position. The single revolution setting triggers one full revolution before stopping. Option three works just like threshold mode, except that when the sound falls below the threshold, it goes back to its original position. The last trigger mode is Aural, where the sound starts and stops moving when you press the trigger button.
A full feature set
Waves equipped Brauer Motion with a full feature set that lets you sculpt your sound. You also have full control over how it moves. Dry lets you add distortion to the center channel but not the panner, while Wet adds distortion to the panner. You also have Clip and Drive controls to add crunch to your sound, plus highpass and lowpass filters. Pre-delay lets you add delay to the effect to create more depth between the center channel and the panner. The Filter control adjusts the highs and lows of the effect based on a set threshold; for instance, when the sound is moving forward it will be brighter; when it's moved back it will sound darker — or vice versa. The Reverse control reverses the motion. Depth narrows front-to-back motion while Width continuously narrows it to mono. In the master section, you have controls for Input/output, Wet gain, and Dry gain. The Gain and Dry controls add the center channel to "ground" the effect, making it more interesting and less radical.
