The TW9 acoustic guitar is a shining example of the Winterleaf series from Tanglewood. A great quality acoustic with high playability and a great price.
Great Tanglewood Craftsmanship
The Winterleaf TW9 features a Solid Cedar top which is a great tone wood. Combined with Mahogany back and sides the TW9 has a great, natural look and rich, loud tones.
The body is a “Super Folk Cutaway” design which is slightly smaller than a standard acoustic guitar making it nice and comfortable to play.
The cutaway aspect of the design makes for easy access to the higher frets which is essential for solos, virtuosic lead work and adventurous melodies.
Mahogany makes up the neck which features a Rosewood fingerboard. At the top of the neck there is a PPS nut with a 43mm width. A rosewood bridge and PPS compensating saddle aids transfer of string vibrations to the body while keeping accurate intonation.
The body is securely bound with ABS Ivory binding around the perimeter which blends in nicely with the natural satin finish of the TW9.
Hardware and Strings
At the headstock by the classic Tanglewood logo you’ll find 6 chrome die cast tuners which will allow you to quickly and easily tune your guitar and keep the tuning stable.
The TW9 has been fitted with D’Addario’s best selling 80/20 Bronze wound strings – a set of EXP11 acoustic guitar strings. EXP coated strings are plain steel strings with hexagonal cores made of revolutionary NY High Carbon Steel. Known for their deep, bright and projecting tone they go great with the Tanglewood TW9.
