With just two knobs, TDx gives you explicit control over the attack and sustain of your signals: invaluable for creating huge, punchy drums and in-your-face guitars — and having everything sit perfectly in your mix. Precise transient control: a new way to approach your mix
Besides basic EQ and panning, you'd be surprised how close to perfect you can get your mix using only the SPL TDx Transient Designer. It's simple to use — adjust the attack knob to either sharpen or soften transients, and use the sustain control to fine-tune how quickly sounds decay. Use sharper attacks with shorter sustain to place elements up front in the mix, and soften transients while enhancing sustain to place elements further back. Using the Mix knob, dial in a bit of unprocessed signal to taste.
Manage dynamics without affecting loudness
The reason we like the TDx Transient Designer is that it gives us control over dynamics without resorting to compression. You may find you can use milder compression ratios and settings on tracks that have been treated with TDx, resulting in more dynamic and natural-sounding mixes.
