Inspired by the ornate 000-42 Martin model, the Sigma 000R-42 retains many of the originals classic features at an affordable price. Both the Martin and the Sigma offer the grove tuner which is a great attention to detail and shows the level of care gone into making this guitar.
The Sigma 000R-42 Acoustic Guitar is the perfect all round guitar, its built with a classic solid sitka spruce wood top meaning its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range. Whether you're finger picking or strumming your heart out you will have a crisp, articulate sound and the the indian rosewood back and sides give the 00R-42 a rich, warm bass sound combined with a high end sizzle.
The 00R-42 has a longer scale length compared to the 000R8V giving it a slightly different feel and character, get your hands on one to find out what sounds best for you!
Here's what Sigma have to say about their company
In the late 1960s the situation for US guitar manufacturers became difficult: guitars that were made in Japan, looking very similar to US guitars, were flooding the market but at a much lower price. These guitars increasingly endangered the US manufacturers dominance on the market, and a few American companies reacted to that development in an appropriate manner: They did not take any legal steps but instead launched a counter offensive. That?s when ?Sigma Guitars? was born. In 1970 ?SIGMA?, the brandname for acoustic guitars, was launched.
Now a new line of Sigma branded guitars are on the market through AMI Musical Instruments GmbH in Germany.
As a distributor of fine acoustic and classical guitars for over 25 years, it is a great honour that we were able to obtain for some parts of the world the rights of the time-honoured name ?Sigma Guitars Est. 1970? as well as the distinct Sigma logo.
Our business partner and guitar manufacturer is one of the most respected makers who has been building outstanding quality guitars for over 20 years.
Sigma Guitars have an excellent, yes even legendary reputation. With outstanding quality both in construction and sound, it is striking but not surprising that there are hardly any second-hand Sigma guitars up for sale. Most owners still swear by their instruments and would never part with them.
