DYN-B
 The dream of every "acoustic thinking and feeling" bass player is a neutral tone, faithful reproduction of his acoustic instrument, the quality he knows from the studio microphone, but without the problems of voiceover and feedback. The Schertler® Double Bass DYN-B transducer is easily the most natural acoustic pickup on the market today, and through neutral amplification guarantees a truer reproduction of double bass than ever thought possible. The response, the dynamics, the entire feel of the sound, can no longer be distinguished from a purely acoustic performance. A pre-condition for perfect acoustic performance is a neutral amplification system - so, forget about electric bass amplifiers. To control feedback tendencies there is an integrated phase inversion circuit within the transducer's XLR connector(to suppress standing waves). In addition, the instrument resonance filter of the optional Schertler®Acoustic Pre-Amp "PRE-AII" helps to counter any tendency of the double bass to resonate with the loudspeaker. The use of the PRE-AII is generally recommended for bass players, since this by itself provides a line-out signal for additional system components to perform whatever modulation is required.
APPLICATION
The use of the DYN-B is extremely simple and very safe, especially for vintage instruments where the value could be affected by a permanent installation requiring working parts of the wood. Special adhesive putty is provided to mount the pickup on the instrument body. The best location is quickly found through trial and error. The balanced signal uptake - via the XLR connector - and the low impedance of the pickup reduce the risk of hum and radio frequency interference to a minimum, even when using long cables. The same pickup features also allow direct connection to a mixing board or amplifier input. For amplification devices with direct "Line-in" possibilities, we offer our Acoustic Preamp "PRE-AII" for signal boost and modulation. For the perfect reproduction of the acoustic bass, Schertler® also offers a series of active acoustic instrument loudspeakers of best possible quality.
