The GXD4 has been optimized for use with 8 and 4 ohm loudspeaker loads and deliver just the right amount of power for the most popular speakers used today. It outputs 400 - 1600 Watts of class-D power, that's housed in a lightweight 2U rack mount chassis.
Unlike most, the GXD 4 offers complete loudspeaker processing capability that enables users to optimize and get the most from their loudspeaker systems. DSP processing features High and Low pass filters (24dB LR), 4-band parametric equalizer, signal alignment delay, and RMS/Peak speaker protection limiting. All this is viewed on a large LCD display, simplifying amplifier setup and it indicates the amp status.
A digital limiter stops any chance of destructive clipping which can, in turn, damage a loudspeakers but still delivers the maximum usable output. This protection is set by selecting the loudspeaker’s continuous power and impedance (4Ohm and 8Ohm), and either a mild, medium or aggressive protection mode as desired.
