The Mooer Blues Crab (A+ rating for tone from Cheaperpedals) is a clone of the original Marshall Bluesbreaker which attempted to capture the tube amp qualities of a vintage Marshall 2x12 combo used by Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreaker band. Keep in mind at that time, Marshalls were basically more powerful, bigger Fenders. So the overdrive mimics the qualities of a relatively clean amp just pushed to the point of breaking up: the magic mojo zone of any amp. Therefore, this is not pedal that changes the tonal qualities of your guitar. It allows the guitar itself and your playing to stand on their own, while adding that subtle harmonic richness that results when a vintage combo amp is cranked up.
Sometimes a pedal shows you that less is more.
