The Godin A6 Ultra, Black High-Gloss Guitar is an electric guitar with qualities and features found in acoustic guitars to enable it to produce both acoustic and electric guitar sounds.
The A6 Ultra is the latest in Godin's innovative A Series, and continues the company's ambition to blur the lines between acoustic and electric guitars. The A6 is a sealed, hollow-bodied electric guitar with the inside of the body scooped out. There is a Godin GHN-1 Humbucker on the top providing warm electric guitar tones, and a Custom Godin under-saddle transducer within the body to pick up acoustic guitar sounds and textures.
The A6 offers two output jacks, one for the humbucker and one for the transducer, so that the A6 can be used as an electro-acoustic guitar, as an electric guitar, or both together. This means that the acoustic guitar output can be sent to an acoustic guitar amp or mixing desk, and the electric guitar output can be sent to an electric guitar amp.
Although the A6 Ultra is an electric guitar, it features a solid cedar top and an acoustic guitar bridge with bridge pins. This versatile guitar's preamp offers sliders to control acoustic volume, treble, middle and bass, as well as independent controls for humbucker volume, treble and bass.
The A6 Ultra is completed by a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and Godin's signature headstock design. This model comes in a black high-gloss finish, which brilliantly shows off the guitar's solid cedar top.
