The Dynaudio LYD-5 5" Nearfield Studio Monitors are the premium small-format line in the LYD range. For home studios and smaller set-ups the LYD-5s are ideal as their lightweight aluminium wire and voice coils in the drive units make them especially easy to manipulate whilst testing the room audio. The low mass of these components also ensure a quick and accurate transient response. Each state-of-the-art Class-D amplifier has a 96 kHz / 24bit signal path and DSP to provide outstanding performance.
The LYD range of monitors excel at low volume precision mixing and mastering, the drive units being produced in-house at Dynaudio’s Denmark factory. This includes the vital soft-dome tweeters and MSP woofers. This gives the LYD range and unprecedented consistency when listening to pairs in different locations or even when crossing pairs. The rigorous testing regime guarantees a neutral and uncoloured clarity, so essential in professional mixing applications. The smoothness of the signal also means listening for longer periods will not bring on ear fatigue.
